to the Home of Youth Rugby in the Sacramento Valley Region; home to the National High School Rugby Champions 2009 (Jesuit) and Runner Up (Christian Brothers).
The SVRF now operates under the name of SAY
RUGBY (Sacramento Area Youth RUGBY), so while we remain
the SVRF for legal and non-profit tax purposes you will see
less and less SVRF and more SAY RUGBY. This change just reaffirms
our commitment to the youth of our region and our sport.
In the Sacramento Region SAY RUGBY is the focus for growing our sport. We manage a number of events, including our annual Kick Off Tournament (KOT), and for 2012 this season’s KOT will be held 28-29 Jan, and will be hosted at the Rancho Cordova High School. 126 teams have registered (more than ever before) and this promises to be the best KOT to date.
In partnership with USA Rugby we sponsor clinics and training sessions for coaches and referees and we
expect to add introduction to rugby courses for young “wannabee ruggers” in the not too distant future.
If you are new to rugby, take a few minutes to watch this video clip, it will give you an introduction
to the game that we “ruggers” have come to love. If that has peaked your interests and you want to learn a bit more about the basics, to watch the IRB Playing Charter, Click here! Also you could visit the the web site for the winners of the recent Ruby World Cup at All Blacks.Com
