The youth (and adults for that matter) of our region are sorely lacking a dedicated facility as home for the our excellent RUGBY of our region; not to mention our annual KOT which has grown to be the largest youth rugby tournament of
its type in the USA, and the world.

For a number of years, the SVRF in partnership with San Juan Soccer, has been pursuing a long term lease of a significant part of the former Mather Air Force Base,to house a joint soccer/rugby complex. We now have an 87 year lease and are well in to the permitting process; for water, we are hoping to use recycled water in a bid to be as green as possible;allowable height for lights at a stadium, we have had to work with the FAA on this one as there is still some aviation activity at the field and we must ensure our light poles do not interfere with still active radar; and other more routine but equally time consuming additional permitting issues.

While there are still many hurdles to overcome, we continue to work on a number of contingency locations, in case we are unable to resolve some of the permitting issues and  challenges. Rest assured, everyone on the board remains as committed as ever to developing a state of the art rugby facility in the Sacramento Area to serve players, officials, teams and supporters locally, regionally and internationally.
